==Early life==
Born in Galway, Conor moved with his family to County Cork when he was six and they returned when he was thirteen.〔(Conor Pope biography ), ''Galway Independent''.〕 He studied English and Philosophy at University College Galway (UCG). Upon graduating, he took a programming course in FÁS, then worked at the ''Connacht Tribune'' as placement.〔 After working there, he taught English in Spain for two years, then completed a Masters in journalism at UCG, working his placement for that course in the ''Connacht Tribune''.
